thanks for the kind words, you can stream Losing Touch here >>
"In preparation for a July 5th release date, MindEqualsBlown is teaming up with Sinking Ship Records to stream a track from New England indie-punk hybrid Pinsky’s forthcoming release, Losing Touch. Their debut album promises to hit the summer generation hard, laying out hard-hitting, emo-tinged tracks à la Hot Rod Circuit. Novel as they are still, Pinsky are no strangers to the scene – Jay Maas, guitarist of Boston hardcore unit Defeater, worked with them on their second EP. Unsurprisingly, Pinsky bring the kind of teeth to their music that can only come from a hardcore influence. Combining deliberate instrumentation with an uncompromising youthful energy, the title track from Pinsky’s latest is here for streaming. The band’s debut can be pre-ordered here.
“Losing Touch” is a classic album opener. Fast-paced and swelling, it aims to harness the prevailing desperate feelings of the time in which we live and restate them via concise instrumentation and mature songwriting. So, what might have come off as a childishly unconstructive commentary on the state of the world instead becomes an insight on hope. “Losing Touch” urges listeners, quite literally, to “reach out.” Pinsky’s first single manages to be honest and upbeat simultaneously, and is therefore likely to strike a chord with a generation weaned on The Get Up Kids and enamored with The Wonder Years."
